Post RS Halloween Event

Many thanks for EVERYONE who contributed

in our Pumpkin Pump Up Halloween Event!

pumpkins

Thank you for your participation and contributions by bringing in a tasty (and healthy) treat,  a pumpkin, and/or dressing up! You all contributed in some way, and for that I can’t begin to tell you how much happiness this brings me.

At RS we love hosting events, but the Halloween Event is extra special. There’s just something about this time of the year- The colors, the smells, the weather, the food- I love it ALL!

However, this particular event helps remind us to not take life too seriously. We can still be silly, a little crazy, AND have fun without sacrificing our workout!

Don’t get me wrong, I still love me some good old competition. Our goal at RaceStart was to make you smile and laugh while getting in a good sweat fest. We are all young at heart and RaceStart wanted to remind everyone that it’s okay to let loose, and feel like a kid again. Sometimes we forget the importance of being able to laugh at ourselves, brush off a bad day, and keep moving forward on this fitness journey we set out on! #enjoylife #embracethecrazy 😉

2015-12-22 11.00.12

  • RaceStart established a relationship with Dr. Nate Sorum (Physical therapist, and chiropractor- specializing in dry needling) as well as Dr. Scott Glidden (sport chiropractic). Both are very skilled at what they do, offering a little something different to the table. I can’t stress enough how important our mobility is to see progress in our fitness regimen. These guys are great for a good “tune-up” job:) I look forward to working with them more in the future
  • In December, RaceStart was in their first tradeshow and published in the WWBIC annual magazine.

PLANS FOR 2016 :

  • In January, We will be welcoming another trainer to the the RS family, Erika. She will be offering personal training services as well. With that being said we are also looking for more qualified certified trainers. Contact Antonette for inquiries, #262-497-1844

ERIKA

  • Open gym will run from 6:30AM-10:30AM & 3:30PM-6PM

(M,T,TH,F) (by appointment only).

We provide a “Playbook” filled with RS workouts to help keep you on point. Our Playbook is what sets us apart from other “open gyms” in the area- and coaches will be working out at that time as well.

2015-12-21 22.00.05

  • Our focus will be on building our community and our sponsorships with local athletes in 2016.
  • RaceStart will be at the “Women Up” trade show at the Expo Center the first Saturday in February- We hope to see you there!
  • A squat therapy seminar is planned for the near future. This will help us gain knowledge of limited ROM in our squat, how to avoid that “butt wink”, and any pain our joints may feel from perfoming squats (incorrectly)…and of course how to properly correct that.
  • RaceStart will be hosting an all day KB seminar, with special guest, Sam Gonzalez, Strong First Level II Kettlebell Instructor(SFG II) from Chicago (event open to the public)
  • RaceStart is currently looking to bring in a certified self defense instructor…it’s our goal to be hosting a self defense seminar sooner rather than later.
  • RS is also seeking a nutritionist to bring on borad. Contact Antonette for inquiries, #262-497-1844
  • You can expect to see team competitions with TopLine Gym in the near future.
  • Stay posted for other future events. If there is an event that you’d like RS to host, contact Antonette, #262-497-1844

IN CLOSING

THANK YOU FOR A WONDERFUL 2015! We are very excited for the future plans of RaceStart, and look forward to sharing them with you. Thanks again, for all of your support and dedication over the last year!

If you have any suggestions or ideas that you’d like to see incorporated into our programing please PM Antonette, antonette@racestarttraining.com

CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY EVENT

WORKOUT, PALEO POTLUCK, WHITE ELEPHANT GIFT EXCHANGE…

Does it get any better than that? So here’s the deal…

COME AND CELEBRATE WITH RACESTART FOR OUR 2nd ANNUAL HOLIDAY PARTY!

Participate in a kick butt workout, enjoy some healthy treats, and get in the holiday spirit with a white elephant gift exchange! (there may or may not be some Bing Crosby playing in the background) 😉

SATURDAY, DECEMBER 12th

FEE: (pay@door)

$15 if you bring a ‘White Elephant’ Gift and paleo snack

$20 if you “forget” your snack

10AM-11:15AM: WORKOUT (team workout)

11:15AM: FOOD, HOLIDAY CHEER, AND GIFT EXCHANGE!

There will be a food sign-up sheet on the White Board…make sure to let us know what you’re brining so we have a great variety!

REMEMBER, keep it paleo! #eatlikeacaveman #livefit #eatclean

It is ENCOURAGED not required that you participate in the white elephant gift exchange.

IF YOU DO CHOOSE TO PARTICIPATE bring one wrapped present and don’t put your name on it.

WHAT IS A WHITE ELEPHANT GIFT PARTY?

White elephant parties have been known to result in playful rivalries between players trying to get sought-after items. The goal of a white elephant party is usually to entertain rather than to gain.

Gifts are typically inexpensive, humorous items or used items from home. The term white elephant refers to a gift whose maintenance costs exceed its usefulness.

Each participant supplies one wrapped gift. The gifts are placed in a central location, and participants determine in what order they will take turns selecting them

WHITE ELEPHANT RULES:

We start out with a bowl full of numbers and randomly draw a number- that will determine the order of which we select gifts. The person who drew #1  opens a wrapped gift and the turn ends. On subsequent turns, each person can open a new present or gets the choice to “steal” another person’s unwrapped gift. When a person’s gift is stolen, that person can either choose another wrapped gift to open or can steal from another player. The game is over when the last person goes and the first person goes again

10-31-15 EVENT WAS A SUCCESS

Thank you everyone who made it out for the RaceStart Halloween event!

Our workout changed quite a bit due to the elements…Our original plan was to start out with a mile “Indian pumpkin run”… then complete your team circuit for time….and finally finish with a mile “Indian pumpkin run”….
I know, I know…many of you were very disappointed when you heard that we eliminated the “Indian run” due to the weather, ha!
Despite the weather conditions we still had a great turnout, and one killer workout! We had teams of two rotating through stations…it went a little something like this….

  • 100 KBS/ your partner completes AMRAP of sit ups until the person doing KBS is ready to switch
  • 100 pull ups
  • DONE….TIME FOR PALEO POTLUCK and some ‘monster mashing’ 🙂
