Meet our friend, Frank!
Recently Frank moved here from Bayamon, Puerto Rico to start work at Umansky Motor Cars. Over the last few months Chris, our coach at RaceStart, has spent many hours working with Frank and learning about his story. As we know, Puerto Rico was recently hit by the devastating Hurricane Maria, killing many and leaving the entire island destroyed. Frank had only been in WI for a year before learning that the eye of the hurricane would come tearing through his home town. Nothing could prepare him for the horrific images he was about to see on the news over the next few days. He felt helpless, disconnected, and terrified. After 5 days of no communion from his family on the island, Frank finally gets word that his family survived. 5 days! Can you imagine!? Frank’s family is one of the many who have been inflicted and left homeless due to the destruction of Hurricane Maria. Hearing his story really moved me and and my husband. Chris (my husband) could relate because he too was an immigrant to this country and knows what it’s like to start with very little. We decided to take action by providing an opportunity for the community at RaceStart to help raise funds to get Frank’s family to Wisconsin-Where they will be safe again.
This is what makes our Halloween Event and Ghoulish Workout really special this year. It’s giving us an opportunity to give back, and be an aid to Frank and his family in their time of need.
Please join us for another great workout, food, and prizes! If you aren’t able to attend this event please help us in our efforts to reach our goal of raising $1,000 for Frank.
EVENT DETAILS
- Saturday, October 28th
- 9 A.M.- 10:30A.M.
- $20 entrance at the door with all proceeds for this event going towards helping Franks family in Puerto Rico. Donations are welcomes at the door or at Frank’s GOFundMe page if not able to attend the event!
EVENT INCLUDES
- Food donated by Origin Meals (we also welcome snacks and drinks.)
- Prizes for BEST COSTUME (costumes are optional, but strongly encouraged :))
- 1 FREE WEEK of group classes for all NEW guests
